While often never getting the same fame and recognition as artists and producers, studio engineers play a vital role in the music industry. Meet Jaramiah Rios, the man behind some of the best music that has been released by both local Las Vegas artists and the high profile clientele of the coveted Studio at the Palms.

Tell us a little bit about you, what is your business? What do you want people to know about how your business was created?

My business is Music Production and Studio Engineering. I went to the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in 2014 and moved to Vegas shortly after. I was hired as a Production Assistant at Studio at the Palms in February 2015 and started building from there.

Who have you used as inspiration in building your business?

Well known engineers in the business. People that made a consistent living off music, not easy to get to but over time I’ve made it happen.

What are you currently working on? What is the next step in your business’s growth?

Right now I’m working with a lot of local Vegas artists. There’s a lot of talent out here, I enjoy helping them make sure they’re putting out quality sound and music. Also, I have a lot of mix work coming from around the world that keeps me busy. The next step is just to keep growing and getting better everyday. Over time I plan to get away from recording and strictly mixing/mastering.

If you could collab with anyone else who would it be and why?

I’ve thankfully been able to work with a lot of people I looked up to growing up. If anything it would be a few well known mix engineers to help me get better.

What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself if you were just starting your journey?

I don’t think I’d have any. Everything fell into place for me with hard work and consistency. I’m really proud of not giving up even when times were rough starting out.
