Artist, producer, engineer, and more Raymond “BENJI Frank$” Davila can do it all! Known for his custom sound creations that he has provided to countless artists both large and small, BENJI FRANK$ is a rising star in the hip hop community.
Tell us a little bit about you, what is your business?
My business is developing artists by creating custom sound imaging. My business was created after I decided to start working for myself and to bring creative content back to the youth by developing an Academy that will allow me to be able to pass down a craft or an outlet of positivity for the kids and much more.
Who have you used as inspiration in building your business?
For some reason I’ve always looked up to Dash and his transparency in communication and wants and needs, also I find inspiration in my failures by working with no excuses or “Nopasses.”
What are you currently working on? What is the next step in your business’s growth?
I’m currently working on beats with Sada Baby, D3szn, Ochodrippin, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Dstboiskeet, and more. I also have melody and drum kit packs dropping on my website soon, as well as clothing and merchandise. Finally, I’m also doing a lot of artist development work with my artist Brix.
If you could collab with anyone else who would it be and why?
I would love to collab with 50 Cent, 40 from OVO, J. Cole, blue face, and some of the new UK drill artists coming out.
What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself if you were just starting your journey?
It’s always to better myself and stay focused. There’s been a lot of times I should’ve made selfish decisions that would have placed me positions to be where I need to be in order to launch me where I need to go.
