DJ KAY N M has established himself as one of the biggest names in Las Vegas entertainment since he began his DJ career in 2014. Over the last 9 years KAY N M has worked with countless big names as a DJ, host, MC, event organizer, promoter, marketer, and more! We had the pleasure to sit down and speak with him about his career and his business, It’s Fire Entertainment.
First tell us about your recent Rod Wave show here in Las Vegas:
Rod Wave was truly amazing to me. To come from where we started throwing underground shows at a local hookah lounge, to having a show with 6500+ people sell out was something I never imagined. Being able to DJ for my own show of that size with one of my best friends (DJ Kiloo) was something I’ll never forget. I’m truly thankful to the city for showing out and I promise this is just the beginning for It’s Fire.
Just the beginning? Any chance we can get a hint at what’s next?
I can’t really speak on any of it yet but we have some crazy shows in the works! Let’s just say that the ladies are gonna be ready to break up with their men and hit the love cycle.
Ok, Ok, I guess we’ll see soon! With that said, how did you get started in this industry?
I started off as a DJ for hookah lounges and slowly expanded into warehouse parties. From there my team and I started hosting nights at some of the major nightclubs in Arizona and here in Las Vegas, and now we are starting to focus on arena shows and festivals. Over the years I have had some great mentors and I have been blessed to be able to learn almost every role in the industry. This is what I love to do and I don’t know what my life would be without it.
What is it that motivates you to do what you do?
I do it for my kids, well my family as a whole and that includes my team. We didn’t have these opportunities when we were young. I want my family and my team’s families to be able to enjoy life and be whatever they want to be as they grow up. My team took a lot of losses trying to build to where we are, the city of Las Vegas hasn’t had a major established event culture for Hip Hop beyond the strip and we want to fix that. I want to see the city be able to support both big names and help to grow local talent at the same time.
Where do you see yourself and It’s Fire in the next 5 years?
First, we are opening a nightclub in 2022. This will allow us to produce events at a new level every week. Beyond that we will be throwing some of the biggest shows in the world, all while continuing to put Las Vegas on the map as a Hip Hop hub.
