Director and cinematographer Camron “Shot By Camm J Boyd” Boyd has come a long way in just over a year of shooting music videos. From humble beginnings Boyd, who started by shooting videos on his phone, has now produced content for some of the biggest names in hip hop.
Tell us a little bit about you, what is your business? What do you want people to know about how your business was created?
My business is directing and filming multiple forms of cinematic productions from music videos to short films and more. I came from very humble beginnings, when I started shooting music videos one year ago I was using and IPhone as the camera until I earned enough money to purchase a professional DSLR camera. Since then I have worked with artists such as Fat Boy, NBA Youngboy, K. Michelle, BandGang Lonnie Bands KOD, and more.
Who have you used as inspiration in building your business?
I’ve always looked up to A Zae Production as I’ve been building my business.
What are you currently working on? What is the next step in your business’s growth?
I’m currently working on writing a short film while continuing to film music videos daily. The next step in my business growth is directing and shooting the short film to show my versitality as a director and cinematographer..
If you could collab with anyone else who would it be and why?
If I could collab with anyone else in the industry it would be Justin Bieber and Meek Mill. In my opinion they are some of the best and most versatile artists in the industry.
What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself if you were just starting your journey?
I would tell myself to take risks, take chances, and always save more than you spend.
