Jackson, Mississippi recording artist Polo Baybee has quickly established himself as a force in the industry through his energetic “Turnt” sound! We had a chance to sit down with him and hear a bit of his story.
Tell us a little bit about you, what is your business? What do you want the public to know about how your business was created?
My name is Polo Baybee. I am an up and coming artist from Jackson, Mississippi. I been doing music since I was 13, but I started taking it seriously at age 16. Before rapping, I used to sing in the youth choir in elementary school. I got into music fully by watching 106 & park back on BET and seeing kids my age at the time making their dreams come true. That motivated me to know take music serious.
Who have you used as inspiration in building your business?
Beatking, Kstylis, Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, and Travis Porter play a big role in my style of music.
What are you currently working on? What is the next step in your business’s growth?
Recently, I just dropped my newest single called F.I.U.S. (F*ck It Up Sis) featuring Mississippi female artist DjangoBxtch. My next project entitled Super Turnt Vol.3 will be dropping November 9th.
If you could collab with anyone else who would it be and why?
I would definitely want to collab with Erica Banks, even though both of our styles are different, I feel her and I would make the perfect twerk anthem.
What advice would you give to a younger version of yourself if you were just starting your journey?
Don’t let nobody tell you you won’t make it. Keep working, praying, and manifest. Everything will come in due time.
